PowerShell

Reading Time: < 1 minute

PowerShell is a command-line interface (CLI) tool built mainly for Windows systems. If you are familiar with the CLI, this shell can be your best friend in whatever job you have.

Service Desk can use it query Active Directory and manipulate its objects.

Database administrators can manage databases.

System Administrators can use it monitor servers and administer features.

PowerShell is a, well, powerful tool that can benefit all personnel in an IT department.

If you are new to PowerShell or want to learn the basics, I recommend reading “Learn Windows PowerShell In A Months Worth Of Lunches” by Don Jones and Jeffery D. Hicks. This book gives a practical approach to how PowerShell works and how you can implement it right away in your work.
